Note: The following is not a verbatim transcript of the Zoning Hearing Board meeting; it is simply one person’s summary of the major points made by those involved in the hearing process. For that reason, quotation marks are not used unless a direct quote was recorded. For information about obtaining an official ZHB transcript, contact the New Hanover Township office. Gibraltar Rock's witness was Mr. William Potter of EarthRes Group. Attorney Lawrence Sager, attorney for a local business began cross-examination. Sagar is looking for the records in support of the application and made a request for a subpoena to get the information he needs. Patangar never said you couldn’t go on the site. I don’t remember. Sagar kept trying to get the witness to explain studies that he did not initiate and Harris kept objecting to his witness doing so. Sagar kept speechifying that he wanted all of the information put into the record not just half of it. EarthRes only did an environmental assessment of the Swann Oil property. If other properties were acquired by Silvi the mine plan would change. Do you agree there are sub-surface contaminants on the Swann oil property that would affect mining? He said no. Spent some time talking about streams and berms and tunnels.Sager will continue on January 2006 |
