Gibraltar Rock, Inc. cited for Violations by the Pennsylvania Dept. of Environmental Protection

This Company has had the following “violations” cited by the Penna. Dept. of Environmental Protection.  The first three were investigated following complaints from neighbors of the Silvi Group properties in New Hanover Township.

1)        9-2-09 . . . Fugitive emissions, contaminants, failure to prevent particulate matter from becoming airborne.   (Dozers working on the property.)

2)        9-8-09 . . . Failure to design, construct or maintain erosion and sedimentation controls.  (Swamp Creek had heavy concentration of silt following heavy rain.)        PENALTY: $2,000 (collected)

3)        10-27-09 . . . Failure to design, construct or maintain erosion and sedimentation controls.  (Swamp Creek had heavy concentration of silt following heavy rain.)      PENALTY: $3,000 (collected)

4)        1-29-10 . . . National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants/Failure to comply with U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants  (2 violations).                                                                                                    Failure to comply with regulations for asbestos emissions for demolition and renovation.         PENALTY FOR VIOLATIONS:  $2,500 (collected)
